Local Authorities
South West Screen leads the way in delivering a unique blend of film-friendly services through a collaborative partnership with the region's local authorities.
Our film-friendly policy is backed by a comprehensive training programme designed to help local authority officers understand the needs of film-makers and enabling them to provide an efficient and well-informed service for productions shooting in the region.

The Programme provides two levels of training, Standard and Advanced, and each consists of a one day mentoring session. The Standard session is aimed at local authorities setting up their film-friendly service and the Advanced session offers more in-depth training for those authorities already experienced in handling filming. Once they have completed the Standard session, local authorities are awarded a 'film-friendly accredited authority'. So, wherever you see the logo below, you should be guaranteed a warm welcome!
The film-friendly training programme has been devised and delivered by Maggie Ainley, former Bath Film Commissioner and senior industry member. For further information contact Maggie Ainley.
