Production is set to increase in the next few months with recomissioned productions returning to the South West.  The Locations Department appreciate that you will all be eager to contact incoming productions in the region and make your interest known.

Almost daily we get calls and e-mails asking for production contacts which puts us in a difficult position. We hope you’ll appreciate that we are usually involved in the very early stages of pre-production and consequently are trusted to work confidentially with Heads of Production, Producers, Writers and Line Producers. That means that, much as we'd like to, we can't disclose information on possible future productions that are coming in or we'll lose that trust, and our credibility.

 

We need to balance that confidentiality with helping you to get work. So, when we know that something is definitely coming into the region we ask those involved whether we can make their project ‘public’ and give the production office details out.  We have to respect each production's position on this but all productions are made aware of our online Production Guide, so if you register, you'll already be on the radar.

 

We know that many of you want us to be more proactive and we've taken that on board.  That's why we are trialing a system by which you can express your interest using our online community. We can then pass this information onto productions when they are looking to recruit.

4)    Post a message titling the subject with the production that you are interested in

5)    In the body put your availability, recent relevant credits, and contact details

6)    Once you have written your message add the tag ‘expression of interest’
